  • The region of Bordeaux is also home to Sainte-Émilion, which could be the oldest wine producing appelation in the region with history that dates back to the Romans.

  • The Bordeaux region has over 120,000 hectares of grapes, producing close to 900 million bottles of wine.

  • Originally Bordeaux was famed for its white wines with over 80% of the land dedicated to it. The transition to red wines came in the 1970’s.
